Mr. Wade Shumaker, 78, of Ethel, passed away April 28, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, April 30th at New Hope Baptist Church; with burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 – 6 pm Saturday at Culpepper Funeral Home and 1 – 2 pm Sunday at the church. Rev. Dwight Fleming, Rev. Terrell Mayo and Rev. Danny Townsend will officiate.
Wade was born December 6, 1938 to Homer Lee and Eddie Pearl Tierce Shumaker.
Wade was a 1957 graduate of Ethel High School and attended Holmes Junior College.
Wade married Sara Lynn Riley on April 25, 1959, and they had two children.
He was a member and Deacon of New Hope Baptist Church; and a Mason. He was the Supervisor of Beat 5, Attala County for 16 years. He liked working with cattle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Bobbie Shumaker Black.
He is survived by wife, Sara Shumaker; son, Galen (Tricia) Shumaker; daughter, Susan (Clay) Paslay; grandchildren, Max, Eli (Aubrie Claire,) Lee, Sadie Lynn, Mary Hartley Waller.
Pallbearers will be Max Shumaker, Eli Shumaker, Lee Shumaker, Barry Black, Billy Tierce, Jerry Riley.
