William Edmon “Eddie” Ivey, Jr., age 57, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly Madison, Mississippi, went to his heavenly home Friday, February 19th, 2016. Eddie, a former graduate of Madison Ridgeland High School, was a professional plumber and contract manager. His job as a contract manager took him to Florida where he ultimately met his love of almost fifteen years and fiancé, Michelle. Eddie loved his family, friends, music, video production, the New Orleans Saints, making people laugh and Mississippi, where he had planned to return home. Eddie will be deeply missed by all that were lucky enough to have known him.
He leaves behind his fiance’, Michelle Doughty of Port Charlotte, FL; daughter Tiffany (Brian) Garrett of Brandon, MS, son Justin (Brooke Stanley) Ivey of Canton, MS, son Justin Scering, daughter Alora Hardman, and four-legged son Grizz, all of Port Charlotte, FL. Grandchildren Baylee Garrett of Brandon, MS, Dalton Ivey and Myles Stanley both of Canton, MS; Mother, Merle Ivey of Madison, MS; Brother, Ronnie Ivey of Natchez, MS, sister Patsy (Larry) Stephens of Bella Vista, AR, and sister Teresa (Ric) Schweitzer of Kosciusko, MS. Others near and dear to his heart, Carrie Smith of Southaven, MS, Vickie Meyer of Port Charlotte, FL, seven nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends! Preceded in death by his father, William E. “Jack” Ivey, Sr.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 25th from 4:00 – 6:00pm at Culpepper Funeral Home in Canton, Mississippi. Funeral services immediately following visitation at 6:00pm. No interment to follow. Celebration of Life will be held in Port Charlotte, Florida with date and time to be announced.
