Mr. Freeman Watkins, 74, of Ethel, passed away February 28, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 5th at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel; burial to follow at Parkway Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 – 7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Ralph Hunt and Rev. Doyle Mitchell will officiate.
Mr. Watkins was a member of Ethel Baptist Church. He worked for DeViney Construction company for 16 years as a foreman, until going to work for Mitchell Metal driving a truck where he retired and missed it so much he went back to driving for Mitchell Metal and drove up to December 2015. He had been with Mitchell Metal for over 40 years. He loved his job and thought of the crew as family.
He is preceded in death by parents, Thomas & Lillian Bain Watkins; wife, Lenora Ann Watkins; brothers, James Mack Watkins, Billy Gene Watkins, Harold Thomas Watkins; sisters, Christine Jetters, Wardean Flanigan. He is survived by sisters, Marie Clark and Thomas, Carolyn Free and Ed; Numerous Nieces and Nephews; Companion Pet, Bella.
Pallbearers will be Josh Watkins, Brian Watkins, Jerry Cheek, Mike Whitman, Justin Watkins, Joey Johnson, Braxton Goza and Terry Watkins. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Frazier, Billy Wilhite, Donnie Simmons, Gerald Downs, Kiptyn Johnson, Scott Walters, Danny Doty and Daniel Simmons. He will be missed by us all.
