Obituary for Sara Trussell

Sara  Trussell
Sara Sue Trussell, 82, of Kosciusko, went to be with her Lord in heaven October 7, 2017, upon passing away with family by her side, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Rev. Barry Corbett will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 9, and on Tuesday, October 10, starting at 9 a.m.
Sara was born in the Old Bankston community of Choctaw County, Mississippi, on October 4, 1935. She graduated from Ackerman High School and received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University in 1959. She married her husband of 55 years on November 7, 1954, when he returned from the Korean War. Sara taught school in Olive Branch, MS, and moved to Kosciusko in 1963 to raise her family of five children. She played basketball in high school and loved sports, especially Kosciusko and MSU football, and she enjoyed cooking and visiting with friends and family. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Kosciusko, and during her illness, her Sunday School Class was a strong source of comfort and support. She was a loving wife and mother who will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Avery Bell and Mazell Crenshaw Watson and by her husband, Emmett Norman Trussell who was a retired Associate Attala County Agent.
She is survived by daughter, Norma (Mickey) Blackwell of Orange, TX, and sons, David (Cheryl) Trussell of Brandon, MS, Tommy (Teresa) Trussell of Kosciusko, and Mike (Jennifer) Trussell and John (Diane) Trussell both of Sallis, MS, sister, Dorothy Cooper, grandchildren, Kathryn (Blackwell) Stuckenschneider, Kelley (Cain) Cowan, Michael Sean Trussell, Lucas King, Jake King, Matt Trussell, Blake Trussell, Emily Trussell, Hannah Trussell, Shelby Trussell, and great granddaughter, McCarty King.
