Obituary for Earline Thrasher (Ellington)

Earline E. Thrasher, born March 31, 1921 to Walter Stanley and Izzie Belle Foster Ellington, passed away October 14, 2017 after an extended illness at Atwood Personal Care Home in Noxapater, MS.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, October 17th at Ebenezer Baptist Church; visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Rev. Larry Harvey and Rev. Harvey Overstreet will officiate.
Mrs. Thrasher attended schools in Tchula and Greenwood before graduating from Zama high school in 1938.
Mrs. Thrasher was a Farmer’s wife and Mother for many years, but the opportunity came for a position with the Attala Extension Service and she became a County employee. She worked for the Tax Assessor for Mrs. Harpole and went with her to the Chancery Clerk’s office. She then worked for several years for the Kosciusko City Water and Light Company. From there she worked for the Attala County Health Department, where she retired with 25 years of service in 1986.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wyman E. Thrasher; sisters, Gladys Ellington Taylor and Flora Mae Ellington Barefoot; parents, Stanley and Izzie Belle Ellington.
She is survived by her daughters, Paula T. McLeod and husband Larry, Etheline T. Steed and husband Eldridge; grandchildren, Jim Turner and wife Jaki, John Turner and wife Justine, Joe Turner and wife Joey, Edward Steed and wife Bridgett, Richard Steed and Brigid, Sheila Steed, Gene McLeod and wife Michelle, June McLeod; great grandchildren, Jonathon Mensch, Jacob Turner, McKena Turner, Savannah Turner, Sophia Turner, Lauren Steed, Emily Steed, Tyler Steed, Taylor Steed, Ashlynn Steed, Halleigh Steed, Thrasher Steed, Emma Steed, Courtney McLeod Peterson and husband Luke, Morgan McLeod, Lauren McLeod; great great grandchild, Harper Peterson.
