Rev. George Pitts, 90, of Ethel, passed away Tuesday, April, 3, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 7th at New Hope Baptist Church; burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm Friday at Culpepper Funeral Home and 10:00 – 11:00 am Saturday at the church.
Rev. Pitts was an Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was the minister of Harmony Baptist Church in Ethel.
He is survived by his wife, Odessa Pitts; sons, George Edward (Patricia) Pitts, James Michael (Rhonda) Pitts; daughters, Martha (James) Hearon, Linda (Joe) Hunt; Connie Marie Greenwood, Julia Denise (Rick) White; brother, W.L. Pitts; sisters, Elizabeth Clark, Frances Johnson; grandchildren, Wendy, Candi, Joey, Angie, April, Zack, Luke, Richard, Allen, Katie, Amy, Bradley, Britney; 20 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Rachel Graham Pitts; brothers, Travis Pitts and J.H. Pitts.
