Obituary for Willie "Sonny" Bates
Mr. Willie Merl “Sonny” Bates, Jr., 70, of Weir, passed away April 24, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, April 26th at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel; burial to follow at North Union cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Ballard will officiate.
Sonny was a member of New Haven Baptist church. He was a Nurse at Choctaw regional medical center.
He is survived by his wife, Michele Bates; sons, Billy Bates (Heather), John Bates (Chrysta), Gage Bates (Mia); grandchildren, Hunter, Dalton and Alex.
He is preceded in death by parents, Willie Merl and Margerite Bates; sisters, Tammy Berry, Barbara Brown.
Pallbearers will be Albert Campbell, Bill Campbell, Brett Naquin, Curry Wilson, Craig Campbell and Kevin Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Buck Burrell, David McGehee, Gerald McGinnis, Larry Allen and Pat Burrell.
