Obituary for John Alston

Mr. John Hayward Alston, 75, passed away at his residence Monday, May 7, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 9th at Seneasha United Methodist Church; burial to follow at Seneasha Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday at Culpepper Funeral Home and 10:00 – 11:00 am Wednesday at the church. Bro. David Cain will officiate.
He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason and current Master of the Goodman Lodge. He was a member of Seneasha United Methodist Church and enjoyed a close relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. John loved his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors tending to his cows.
John began his career as a machinist, tool and die maker, and welder at Superior Coach Corporation in Kosciusko and transitioned with the company through various ownership changes throughout his thirty plus year career.
John leaves behind his wife of almost 57 years, Barbara Jean Cotten Alston; daughter, Jon Anne (Terry) Cade of Olive Branch; son, Tommy (Kim) Alston of Kosciusko; 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Gabriella) Cade, Tyler Perry, Hope (Bobby) Brewer, Harlee Alston; great grandson, Reese Cade. He also leaves two sisters, Donna (Joe) Zagst of Natrona Heights, PA and Vicki (Barry) Ray of Kosciusko; several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Ruby Alston.
Pallbearers will be Archie Cain, Brian Cotton, Jim Michaels, Ryan Cade, Richard Jones and Jr. McCrory.
Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Perry, Bobby Brewer, Jimmy Dickerson, Barry Ray, David Hutchison and Jerry Burrell.
Memorials may be made to Seneasha United Methodist Church.
