Obituary for Robert Ezra Hamilton

Robert Ezra Hamilton, Jr., 70, of Raymond, MS died at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson on May 28, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born in Kosciusko, MS on September 28, 1947 to Robert E. Hamilton, Sr. and Louise Simmons Hamilton. He was a retired Home Inspector and worked many years in the construction industry. Ezra enjoyed investigating the ancestry of the Hamilton, Simmons, and Jenkins families. He loved talking to relatives he had never met. Ezra also enjoyed planning reunions for the Kosciusko Class of 1965.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Ezra is survived by his wife, Elva Kuykendall Hamilton, of Raymond, two sons, Robert E.
Hamilton, III (Julie), and three grandsons of Chattanooga, TN; William Stacey Hamilton of Pearl, MS; two sisters, Brenda Whitfield of Winona and Martha Schroeder (Gene) of Kosciusko; a niece and two nephews; two stepsons, Jimmy Chambers (Michelle) of Raymond, their two children and a granddaughter, and Scott Chambers of Clinton; and many, many friends and relatives.
A graveside service is planned for Saturday, June 2, at 4 p.m. at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS, the Reverend Gene Richardson officiating.
