Obituary for Lauree Burns Reeves

Mrs. Lauree Burns Reeves, 78, of Brandon, passed away April 4, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, April 9th at New Hope Baptist Church on County Road 5216, Kosciusko, MS; burial to follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am prior to services at the church. Culpepper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, with Rev. Terrell Mayo officiating.
Mrs. Reeves was an Attala County native and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She graduated from Ethel High School where she found her love of basketball. She retired from Manhattan Healthcare Center and has enjoyed herself in the retirement years. She loved working in the garden and had beautiful rose gardens. She was a big fan of sports, especially Ole Miss! She loved her family and was so proud of her children and grandbabies. Mrs. Reeves enjoyed traveling with her sisters on their “sister trips” and looked forward to their adventures.
She is preceded in death by parents, W. Talmadge and M. Lucille Burns; husband, Patrick “Pat” Reeves; grandson, Reeves Belk and sister, Jeanette Sanders.
She is survived by her son, Rick (Helen) Reeves; daughters, Laurieanne (James) Belk and Mary Ellen (Jimmy) Stewart; grandchildren: Chase (Sara) Belk, Katie (P.K.) Huff, Sarah (John) Kubala, Seth Reeves, Connor Stewart and Braden Stewart; her Great Grandchildren: Talen, Rivers, Ashlynn, Savannah and Cub Belk; Sawyer, Tucker and Henley Kate Huff; her brothers Dewitt (Jackie) Burns, Dwight (Sharon) Burns, sisters, Ollie Fratesi, Paulette (Randy) Green.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, Kosciusko, MS. Memorials can be mailed to Ms. Sara Shumaker, 36381 Hwy 14, Ethel, MS 39067.
