Mrs. Barbara Cox Mowdy, 84, passed away at Baptist Hospital in Carthage, Mississippi on Thursday, June 25, 2020. She was born August 30, 1935 to the late Raymond Lewis and Thelma Louise Coburn Woods. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Percy Hilton Cox and James R. Mowdy; step-daughter Jeanevar Hargon; and sisters Peggy and Sherry.

Barbara was of the Pentecostal faith and a homemaker.

She is survived by her sons Dwain Cox (Janice) and Raymond Mowdy (Anne); daughters Debbie Clark (William), Vicki Renfroe (James), and Shelly Dickerson; step-sons James Mowdy (Betty) and Johnny Mowdy; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Culpepper Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Robert Ellis and Rev. Johnathan Hynes officiating.

Visitation will be at Culpepper Funeral Home from 9:30 A.M. until service time there at 10:30.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M. at the Lakewood Memorial Pavilion with burial to follow in the Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.

Pallbearers will be John Johnston, Scott Rodgers, Chris Trim, Aaron Witt, Corrie Witt, and Kenny Jenkins.
