Obituary for Austin Scott Dodd
Our family regretfully announces the unexpected passing of Austin Scott Dodd on January 20, 2022 at the age of 26.
Austin was happy as a baby. When he was a child, he had an avid interest in collecting coins and rocks. Later in life some of Austin’s favorite activities were horticulture and studying history.
After graduating from Holmes Community College with an associate’s in Business and Accounting in 2016, he went on to study Business Information Technology at Mississippi State University.
Born to Ephraim Sam Dodd, Jr. and Leslie “Shelly” Bendily Dodd on January 16, 1996. Austin was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Kenneth Carl Bendily and Ephraim Sam Dodd Sr. He is survived by his grandmothers, Betty Glaze Dodd and Ruth Shaver Bendily, his parents Sam and Shelly Dodd, his older brother Bradley Shane Dodd, his older sister Samantha Dodd Massey and her husband Cecil Massey Jr., and his nieces Lyla Rachel Massey, Skylar Lynn Massey, Miley Ray Massey, and Sammie Glaze Massey.
Our family was not expecting the loss of Austin or for his life to be cut so short so soon. We are devastated by this loss and will feel the absence of him always. He will be forever missed.
