Obituary for Huey "Shorty" Bishop
Shorty Bishop, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at his residence in Kosciusko.
Funeral services are 2 :00 pm Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Culpepper Funeral Home with burial to follow at Stump Ridge Cemetery in Sallis, MS. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at Culpepper Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Pearson, Cody Pearson, Chase Ray, Hunter Ray, Shane Hardin and Trey Johnson.
Shorty is survived by his daughters Vickie Pearson (Larry) and Lisa Ray, sister Frankie Cain, his brothers Wayne Bishop, Marion Bishop and Sydney Bishop, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and other beloved friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Madison and Viola Cain Bishop, his son Kenny Bishop, his grandson Jeremy Hardin, his sister Ray Jones and his brothers Caldwell, Homer and Julian.
Shorty was a loving father and grandfather who always took care of his children and did the best he could to teach and guide them. He never met a stranger and will be remembered by many for his quick wit and humor.
He attended Williamsville Independent Methodist Church and was an avid gardener, fisherman and trapper. He had been inducted into the Miss Trappers Association Hall of Fame.
