Obituary for Calvin Fulgham
Calvin Fulgham, 67, a resident of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, May 8, 2023.
Calvin was born October 31, 1955. Calvin was a kind and thoughtful man who enjoyed life to the fullest and left his mark on those who knew him best. Calvin was a great friend to the many people he met throughout his life while working in the floral industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt Sylvester and Farrell Vaughan Fulgham and his brother, Gary Wilburn Fulgham.
He is survived by his sister Brenda Fulgham Nail (Andy); nephews Scott Fulgham (Allison), Drew Nail (Katherine), Tommy Nail (Lauren), Ben Nail (Jordan); niece Patrice Curtis (Brad); and 10 great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
Calvin was born in Maben, MS but soon moved to Ackerman, MS where he attended Ackerman High School. He was Drum Major with the Ackerman High School Indians marching band as well as worked part-time at Ackerman Florist. Through his work at Ackerman Florist and working Christmas Seasons at Mississippi State University Florist, he developed a love for the floral industry and worked in retail and wholesale becoming upwardly mobile moving to 7 major cities in the US and Canada to land that signature job. He found it in FTD (Florists’ Transworld Delivery). Upon retirement Calvin was Director of Quality Assurance for FTD/Pro Flowers drop ship sales working from Fort Lauderdale, Fl.
