Obituary for Biddie Pickle

Bertha Beatrice (Biddie) Reynolds Pickle passed away March 17, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Kosciusko.
Biddie was born in the Center community on June 4, 1927, to Clyde and Rosie Boyette Reynolds. She
attended Barnes School and there met her husband, James Campbell Pickle, whom she married June 12,
1943. She often told stories of driving her father's rolling store, picking cotton, and doing numerous
farm chores to help her family. Later she attended cosmetology school and opened the Beauty Centre,
which she dearly loved. Later she decided to get her LPN license and worked in various medical offices
and hospitals for almost twenty years.
Love, kindness, generosity, and sass are all words that describe Biddie. She loved people, and she could
rarely go anywhere without running into someone who expressed his/her appreciation for her kindness
and care. She loved giving and getting hugs, and she loved life.
As the oldest of seven siblings, she valued family above all and always worked to keep hers close. To her
sisters and brother, she was a second mother. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was
"Groovy Granny."
Survivors include her daughter, Jan (Lester) King of Columbus, MS; two granddaughters, Megan King of
New Orleans, LA, and Amy (Rob) deGruy of Fairhope, AL; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Campbell
deGruy; five sisters, Bonnie Terry of Meridian, MS; Joy Parkerson, Jo (Jimmy) Jenkins, and Sue (Junior)
Ables all of Kosciusko; and Shirley Kelly of Madison, MS; one brother, Terry Reynolds (Ann) of Louisville,
MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Rosie, and her husband James Campbell Pickle.
She also leaves her caregivers Nettie Roby, Patricia Lee, and Peggy Fitts, who made it possible for her to
live her later life as she wanted, and her "family" at the Beauty Centre.
