Condolence: Dear Ms. Ruby and family, Sorry I didn't make it to the visitation or funeral but I am sad with all of you about Elmer's death. The whole family is special to our family. I remember when ya'll moved over the hill from us and I learned there was a little girl in the family about my age. I was thrilled. Jimmie Rae was one of the best friends that I ever had and I still think about her and miss her. She was loyal and always kept in touch through the years. One of the things that I remember about Elmer was how cute he and Charles and Billy were when they were young and Elmer would say something or ask a question and the other two boys would repeat what he said. Or Billy , since he was young, might just say, "Me too". I remember we would have corn dog suppers and that was fun and good. I love corn dogs today and think of ya'll when I have one. Visiting ya'll was fun too. I remember spending the day and riding someone's horse. I guess it belonged to Mr. Roy P. I also remember the bees and watching Mr. Woods rob them. That was interesting. And the honey was good too. Riding the school bus made many experiences too. I believe I remember one day when Elmer lost his glasses out the window of the school bus. We stopped and looked for them but I don't remember the outcome. That was near the Yates place. I did love to grab the boy's caps and run. They loved their caps. I have many good memories and much love for all of your family. At this time I have a bad catch in my back and I am in misery with it. Forgive me for not coming. I would have loved to see all of you. Love, Martha Love
